Aaron, Marshall and I went on vacation last week to California. It was Marshall's first plane trip and he did very well. He only took a 20 minute nap on the way to CA (thanks to the pilot) but napped at least an hour on the way back. We spent some time in San Diego with Colin, Melissa, Aubrey and Meg, and drove north to spend some time in Ojai. John, Shannon, Marlow, and my new niece (3 days old at the time) Clementine live in Ojai. The drive to Ojai was not so much fun... really long through LA because of all of the traffic, but we made it in about 4 hours. The three of us did several early morning walks in Ojai since Marshall woke up as soon as the sun rose (5am in Cali), and the family with the newborn was taking time to sleep. We also went with John and Marlow to the Bates beach, it was Marshall's first time to the beach and he shoveled sand into his mouth in fist-fulls. Clementine spent her time in her mom's arms, so no pics other than the one i got on my phone :( While in San Diego, we went to the SD Zoo, Wild Animal Park, La Jolla, Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, and Balboa Park where we rode the train and the carousel. Also, Aaron picked up his new VW bug and towed it all the way back to Austin!! He got back last night, safely, after the long haul!
